During the main campaign to save Maylands Waterland, I also organised a petition to get the City to change the opening hours of Maylands Waterland and open the site one hour earlier (9am) on a trial basis, to investigate if it increases attendance. This move led the City to change the opening hours in the 2016/7 season. It is my understanding that the trial was successful and the city is considering to adopt the new opening hours (during the summer school holiday).
