I have been a member of the Maylands Historical and Peninsula Association for several years now.

Protecting the historic, character buildings that we still have around Maylands is crucial, as each one of them tells a different story and contributes to the historic urban fabric of our suburb. We don’t have many old buildings left, so where possible, we should preserve the ones that we still have.

I also think that the City should ensure that information about some of our old buildings is more readily available to the public, so that people can better appreciate them.
